The Bartender and The Life Coach are back! Episode 7:TDG TV

The Bartender and the Life Coach are back, this time dealing with the question of how to handle the changing dynamics of a long term friendship. Once again with our special guest Amber, we now delve into a personal situation she is dealing with...a friendship relationship that has changed in a way that Amber is not sure how to deal with. Our entire lives revolve around the relationships that we create with the people around us, from family and friendships to casual acquaintances and vocational (especially as a bartender and a life coach!) connections. How we "manage" these relationships...

Confused about my friend…Life Coach please help!

As the Life Coach, I am noticing a pattern...the consensus from our Drink Guy team is that, after watching Episode 7 of  TDG TV, an expanded version of my thoughts for Amber would be appreciated. A friendship relationship question is something we have all dealt with at some point, and it deserves some attention. It is difficult, between the length of the episode and sharing the stage with the Bartender, to really give a thorough answer...and you are probably figuring out that I like to be thorough! The question posed to us was simple...in a long term friendship relationship, when the...

Drinking Games…..

Since our Facebook Fan Page has a Drinking Game listed for the Oscars, I figured I better add a few to peak everyone's interest.  There are literally thousands of drinking games to be played, but these three will help you get drunk, get to know your friends or possibly get you a free drink from the bartender.  You also won't need any cards, which usually get wet or stuck together, or bottles or any other object that could be hurled at the loser/winner (however you choose to look at it). Sorry, you will need some quarters for one game. Let's start with Fuzzy Duck. I think a few know this...

Cyberstalking…Did I Cross that Line?

Dear Drink Guy... Cyberstalking So I was at my significant other's place the other day, and needed to use the computer. My SO told me to go ahead, so I did. When I sat down, I realized that they had a "social" site open that they had a subscription to, a site designed for singles. I knew I should just close it up, but instead I started to poke around. I found "chats" with other people that had started before we were dating, but had continued after we started seeing each other. (A couple months now) I was not happy, but also realized that I should not have been poking around. Now I don't...

Cyberstalking, a question for The Bartender and The Life Coach. Episode 6:TDG TV

The bartender and the life coach deal with the question of cyberstalking! This question arrived via email, and brings up many issues, both moral, ethical and legal...we do believe it warrants a follow up post with a more in depth answer, but the bartender and the life coach kick off the conversation in Episode 6 of  TDG TV. Cyberstalking is certainly a concept that goes hand in hand with technology, and a concept that has become quite a concern. There are many levels to consider, from the simplicity of a significant other accidently finding your email open and reading a message or two,...

Some Cocktails for the Oscar’s….

Now since the Oscar's can be a theme party, choice of drinks will vary according to each theme.  Since I will assume a Black Tie Affair, we will go with some martini's. Dirty Martini 2 oz Gin ¼ oz Dry Vermouth 1/8 oz olive brine 3 green olives (add or remove olives to your taste) small wedge of lemon (optional) Directions Into a cocktail shaker, pour the Gin, Dry Vermouth and olive brine. Add ice. Shake well. Rub the rim of the martini glass with the wedge of lemon. Strain and pour contents of cocktail shaker into a martini glass. Drop the olives into the martini...

The Bartender and The Life Coach, The Olympics and Hockey! Episode 5:TDG TV

The 2010 Winter Olympic Games wrapped up last night in Vancouver amidst much pomp and circumstance. The excitement and enthusiasm was high, but these Olympic games were not without their controversy. A question was posed to our Bartender and to our Life Coach via our Facebook Fan Page, and a request for a "signature Glenn cocktail" to mark the occasion...thus Episode 5 was born! The host country of Canada did "own the podium" in regards to record breaking Olympic Gold medal achievement, and so the signature cocktail Twenty Ten Gold was born. Our guest on the episode, Amber, truly...

Oh Canada…. Gold Baby….

Just wanted to congratulate the Canadian men's hockey team for their GOLD MEDAL performance this afternoon against our arch rivals from the U.S.  This had to be one of the best hockey games I have ever seen.  Although I was working a full bar at the time, and catching the game was tricky, I did manage to see the tying goal with mere seconds remaining.  But the best was watching, the guy everyone said needed to produce, Sid the Kid scoring the winning goal in overtime. I don't want to take anything away from the Canadian women's hockey team, cause let's be real here, they were...

Twenty Ten Gold….

This is for Lynn, and can be seen on episode 5 1 oz Goldschlagger 1 oz Vodka 1 oz Sourpuss Raspberry Build on the rocks in a highball, add a little grenadine and top with cranberry juice. You can hardly notice the alcohol, but to me anything with Goldschlagger tastes like cinnamon hearts. Enjoy, The Drink Guy Team
