Today, let me introduce you to something a little out of the ordinary—a passport, but not the kind that whisks you through international borders. This is the Yeast Van Passport, a tasting passport that opens the door to some of the best craft breweries and distilleries East Vancouver has to offer.
Conceived by Aaron Jonckheere of Strange Fellows Brewing—a self-proclaimed wanderer and founder of the Yeast Vancouver Brewing District—this passport is a celebration of brewing excellence. It’s the result of a collaborative effort between the vibrant breweries and distilleries of East Van, all within easy walking distance from each other.
Experience a Variety of Samples
Spanning a network of locations between Clark Drive, Powell Street, and Venables, the Yeast Van Passport invites you on a flavourful adventure that’s impossible to complete in a single day. With 14 participating spots, you’ll experience a variety of samples designed to showcase the unique craft of each establishment.
This passport isn’t just a guide—it’s a keepsake. Inside, you’ll find pages for tasting notes and a rating system to track your favourites for a future visit. Each page includes a QR code, a brief description of the location, and all the essentials: address, website, Instagram handle, phone number, and details about their offering. One venue might pour you a 16-ounce beer, while another may entice you with a flight of four carefully curated spirits.
The Perfect Gift
At just $50 (plus tax), the Yeast Van Passport is a perfect gift for beer lovers and spirits enthusiasts alike. It’s valid until March 31, 2025, giving you plenty of time to explore and sip your way through East Vancouver.
Follow @YEASTVANBC on Instagram for updates on each location’s offerings and new events.
So, why not give the gift of adventure and taste this holiday season? Cheers to the lucky recipient who gets to explore East Van, one sip at a time.
Happy holidaze!
